Growing always starts with the best base
Coir may serve as an excellent replacement for peat. In crops where it is important to keep the substrate (temporarily) dry, coir also ensures quick and effortless rewetting. Coir prevents water and fertilisers from being lost or pots from floating.
Good coir has the following properties:
- Buffered absorption complex
- High air percentage
- Good water buffer
- High stability and good structure
- Weed free
There are various coir products that can be used in pure form as well as in mixtures with other coir products. In addition, coir products are also used in a large number of mixtures with peat and other raw materials. What coir product or what mixture is used depends on the requirements set by the crop, the growing conditions and the grower.
